The Fundamentals Development program is Soccer Dieppe's year-round offering for children ages 4 to 7. At this stage, the goal is to build a broad and solid athletic foundation through fun, game-based training — not early specialization.
Children develop fundamental soccer skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and first touch in a supportive group setting. Equally important are the movement literacy skills — running, changing direction, jumping, and throwing — that will serve them across all sports throughout their lives.
The program runs across all four seasons, giving kids consistent exposure to the sport year-round:
- January through March
- Indoor facility sessions
- Technical skill focus
- Transition to outdoor play
- Small-sided games introduced
- Two flexible blocks
- Outdoor fields and games
- Continued outdoor sessions
- Seasonal wrap-up events
Program Objectives
- Master basic dribbling and ball control
- Develop passing and receiving skills
- Build spatial awareness on the pitch
- Encourage teamwork and sportsmanship
- Introduce small-sided game formats
- Build confidence through repetition and play
